New Virtual.Offis Data Centre for Virtual Machines
November 16, 2010
The new Data Centre has been purpose built for high density computing. This 3rd Generation Data Centre features Hot Aisle Containment, which traps the hot air and extracts it away from the computer equipment. High density computing requires a higher power density and this data centre delivers on that requirement with 100Amp and 50Amp racks. The new APC racks are the deepest available at 1200mm which allow room for cabling and PDUs to be secured within the rack. Security includes video cameras in each aisle and swipe card access.
The racks contain IBM BladeCentres full of Blade Servers in a VMware cluster with High Availability enabled. The SANs are using RAID 10 for high performance and high availability.
The latest backup technology has been implemented with LTO5 which enables Virtual.Offis to backup 2TerraBytes an hour.
